Stefan Zimmermann, MD, is Senior Resident Medical Oncology at Fribourg Hospital and Director of the Canton of Fribourg Breast Cancer Screening Program, Switzerland.
Dr. Zimmermann received his medical degree in 2005. He completed his residency in internal medicine 2008 at the Fribourg Hospital and the residency in medical oncology 2013 at the Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland.
Research activities and publications
His main field of interest is the management of early and advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
Dr. Zimmermann is on the Editorial Board of the Cancer Treatment Communication Journal. He published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored specialized book chapters in the Oxford Textbook Oncology and Lung Cancer, Side Effects of Medical Cancer Therapy.
Dr. Zimmermann is society member of the Swiss Federation of Physicians, the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and the Société Fribourgeoise de Médicine. He is faculty member of the Swiss Academy for Multidisciplinary Oncology (SAMO). In addition, Dr. Zimmermann is committee member of the “ASCO in the Mountains” event and reviewer of the European Society of Medical Oncology Press and Media Affairs Committee.
